Beijing’s Commute is Longest in China; How’s Yours?

A survey taken this year has revealed Beijing has the longest average commute time out of 100 Chinese cities, with an average of 48.1 minutes. While well under the one-hour mark recommended by experts for maintaining commuter sanity and happiness, that’s still a f***load of time to spend on the road for a population that’s already spending too much time at the office.

Second worse was Shanghai, with an average commute of 44.1 minutes, which is better … but not by much. So next time one of those Shanghai softies tries to tell you how much better the traffic is there, remind them: yeah, by about 2/3rds of one rendition of Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody.”
